A New York businessman who wants to build a kosher grocery store in Lyndhurst has taken the first step toward realizing that dream, according to Chuck Essreg of Kowit & Co. Real Estate Group.
The Lyndhurst planning commission approved splitting an empty lot next to Tesla Motors off the southeastern corner of Richmond and Mayfield roads, paving the way for Israel Blackman to build a full-service kosher grocery store there. Essreg represented Blackman at the June 25 commission meeting.
Kowit & Co., a commercial real estate company in Mayfield Heights, also represented electric car company Tesla in securing a lease from Mark Sims, owner of that lot and several contiguous ones. Sims owned Sims Chevrolet, a precursor to the Tesla outlet.
