Oheb Zedek-Cedar Sinai Synagogue announces that Raphaella Segal, Assistant Mayor of Kedumim in Samaria, will speak at the synagogue, 23749 Cedar Road, Lyndhurst, on Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9.
Mrs. Segal, a native of South Africa, moved to Israel as a young child, and joined the pioneers who established the community of Kedumim in 1975. She has served the community in many different capacities, including generating grassroots support through the American Friends of Kedumim.
Professionally, Mrs. Segal is an optometrist and vision specialist at the Schneider Hospital in Petach Tikva, and she also runs a private eye clinic in Tel Aviv.
Mrs. Segal will speak immediately following morning services on Saturday, June 8. She will also speak on Sunday evening, June 9, at 7 pm, followed by a dessert reception. Her presentations will cover recent events in Israel and their ramifications on the communities in Judea and Samaria, as well as the challenges of life in these communities today and in the future.
