(O-K)
Whole Foods Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips and Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunks are no longer certified Pareve. They are certified Dairy when bearing the Circle-K D symbol. Products that
do not yet bear the D are still considered Pareve.
(cRc)
• Kirkland Signature brand frozen Blueberries/Raspberries/Strawberries (sold at Costco stores) bears a BCK symbol and the Hebrew words, “zakuk l’bedikas toloyim”(needs to be checked for insects). The certification is for the processing agents only. While the company checks for insects, this does NOT meet the halachic requirement, and those who require checking on frozen berries will need to check these too. In the future the Hebrew words will be replaced by an English statement: “toloyim inspection required”
• Chocolate Chunks Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips under the Saco brand, Middleton, Wisconsin, mistakenly bears a plain cRc. In fact, this product is dairy (Cholov Stam), as indicated in the
ingredients and allergen statement.
