The Cleveland Community Eruv required complex last minute repairs last Friday afternoon. An ongoing construction project created a major breach in the Eruv very late Thursday afternoon. Materials had to be purchased at retail erev Shabbos.
Signal Service Co., which built the Eruv 30 years ago and has maintained it ever since, worked long hours to remedy the issue. Under the direction of the dedicated mashgiach, Rabbi Eliyahu Meir Rennert, the Eruv was functional by Shabbos.
The unanticipated extra costs were very high. As everyone should be aware, the Eruv is a local institution with no outside funding. As the year 5774 approaches, won’t you please consider directing your last minute tzedaka to it? Please send all donations to: Cleveland Eruv Society, 2481 Beachwood Blvd., Beachwood, OH 44122.
