In the last few weeks there have been several break-ins of businesses in the Taylor Rd. area. These incidents have not been reported to the Cleveland Hts. Police.
Please consider that it is of utmost importance for the safety of our residenceĀ that any illegal activity is reported immediately to our Police Department.
Thank you, Rabbi Sruly Wolf

Why are we not involving the police in these incidents?
Are we hiding Something?
SOunds fishy to me?
I think Chaverim needs to get involved
Rochel Fine says
Why isn’t anyone reporting this to the police?
Beachwood fan says
I think it’s time everyone realizes Cleveland heights is a past the future is Beachwood and UH
Joeseph says
Just because it has more crime than UH or Beachwood does not mean that it on the way out. Many people choose CH over other neighborhoods as it is full of modest Torahdik families who dont need too much gashmius and enjoy the close connections between people there. I think that there is special harmony and unity in CH since most people are on the same page as far as their haskofos, life goals, etc. Also close to schools. CH BEH still has a nice future.
Chaya Wolf says
Thank you for your comments. Unfortunately, during these times, crime is not limited to one area, community or city. To suggest otherwise is, at the least, unfair and prejudicial.. It is encumbent upon everyone to ensure that the community in which they live is safe and secure. We live in a great City with excellent services. The response from Cleveland Heights police is immediate. The City of Cleveland Heights is not only a safe place in which to live , it is a city which encourages and supports our Orthodox way of life. I encourage people to move here and experience it for themselves.
Mordechai says
Both communities have an equal share in crime. The police departments release that which they want to the Plain Dealer / Sun Papers to report on the “Police Blotterā Let us not start bashing communities. Each community has its unique problems. Both communities are stable and strong.
When any criminal activity takes place, it should be reported to the local law enforcement agency. Not reporting criminal activity is only allowing it to continue. We need to have safe communities for our children. This includes but not limited to safe driving habits.

Cleveland Heights is a great place to live and work and raise a frum family. If people are happy in other areas of the Cleveland metropolitan area, gezunterheit. There is no need to insult CH because you are happy when living elsewhere. Many of us are delighted where we are.

Regardless of whether or not its being said as a joke, it bothers me terribly that people find a need to separate uh/beachwood and cleveland heights. One of the great benifits cleveland has to offer is the fact that we are a warm, loving and friendly community. We take care of one another and look out for each other. We may live on separate sides of the street but we are ONE community. Lets not destroy this wonderful thing we have and lets work to build a closer relationship between each other

I am a UH resident and we have had 2 gunfire incidents, several domestic violence ones, and robberies on my street of <60 homes in the past 2 years.

ironically living on the ‘other side of Taylor’ has always been deemed another hood – be it for carpool or simply visiting friends or lack thereof
crime happens everywhere ~ sadly so
love thy neighbor as yourself – means that we are all human beings with the same frailties !!!
Neighbor says
CH Police are one of the best departments around. They are very nice to everyone in the community and are caring and compassionate. Yes, even when they give a speeding ticket, it is for your own good. That said, why in the world would someone not report a break-in to the police?? The police use collective incidents to gather evidence to detect and capture a criminal… a little clue here, then another there, they put it all together. We need to be vigilent and let the authorities know about incidents’ like these right away, so that they can do there job of to serve and protect! Kudos to CH police dept!

you still did not explain why these break in s were not reported to the police

Just yesterday I was picking up boys from learning with their Rebbe in the morning (another nice thing about Cleveland Community – the long standing tradition of Xtra Credit learning with Rebbe on snow days) at the Kollel on Taylor Rd. and the police were there investigating what was rumored to be a break in of the Nshei Library monies.
So yes, police are being called and yes, we need to remain vigilant – something true no matter where you live.
