The City of Cleveland Heights Natural Gas Aggregation Program has a great rate right now – just $4.70 per MCF! In November of 2001 a majority of Cleveland Heights’ residents approved a ballot issue authorizing the City to form an aggregation whereby retail natural gas consumers would be automatically included in a large buying group unless, subject to prior notice, they followed a stated procedure to opt-out. Any eligible retail natural gas consumer in Cleveland Heights has the ability to decline service, opt-out of the aggregate, and choose the incumbent supplier or any other alternative competitive retail natural gas supplier.
For years many residents have chosen to take their chances and go with the variable rate since the Cleveland Heights Aggregation Program rate has not been competitive- until now! But not now given that this fixed rate beats most of the fixed and variable rates plans out there. You still have to check again next year and see if the negotiated deal is as good. It seems that unlike the last few years in which supply of natural gas was huge and winters mild that prices were staying very low, gases prices seems to be rising again and certainly after a winter like this all of over the country. Any experts want to weigh in?
