ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Prepares and processes bi-monthly payroll.
2. Prepares reports, reconciliations, and journal entries related to bi-monthly payroll.
3. Processes new employees, salary changes and contact changes in the payroll system.
4. Responds timely to individual requests such as changes in withholding and new deposit accounts.
5. Reviews payroll related invoices and distributes and approves expenses by entity.
6. Maintains employee payroll files.
7. Prepares census data for 403b, Retirement Plan, and JFNA annually.
8. Prepares correspondence, reports, and documents as needed.
9. Interacts professionally on a regular basis with staff and vendors.
10. Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.
11. Prepares data transmissions for HSA and 403b plan deposits.
12. Handles petty cash reimbursements and reconciles petty cash box regularly.
13. Opens and distributes mail twice/week.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and/or Experience
1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Minimum of two years’ experience in payroll processing.
3. Experience with ADP software.
4. Experience with ADP PayXpert is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics
1. Experience with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook and Excel and internet use.
2. Ability to maintain established recordkeeping system and office procedures.
3. High attention to detail, follow-up, self-motivated, proactive and solution focused.
4. Ability to express self effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing.
5. Ability to tactfully and effectively deal with staff and vendors in a personable and professional manner.
6. Ability to work independently with general direction.
7. Maintains a high level of energy and a consistent positive attitude.
8. Excellent math skills

2. Previous administrative and bookkeeping experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment. Also requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, set-up and maintain work files. Travel by automobile may be required occasionally.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work performed in a general office environment. The position may require availability for additional hours during peak periods. Requires periodic participation and attendance at organization sponsored events and meetings.
