The upcoming election is a primary election. There are two issues that will be on both ballots. The Republican ballot has only one contested seat for Judge. The Democrat ballot will have several offices of interest that are contested, including one seat for Judge with Francine Goldberg of University Heights running. .
If requesting an absentee ballot, you will have to choose to vote in either one party or the other, but not both.(The same is true if you choose to vote on election day at the polls) In a primary election you will be selecting who you would like to see represent that party in the November elections when the parties run-off against one another deciding who will actually hold the office. Primary elections are not for the actual position, then, just he opportunity to run for it. You can also choose an “issues only” ballot. Absentee ballot request forms are not mailed out in smaller elections and will have to be requested in order to vote by mail.
Don’t let being a good citizen get lost in the Yom Tov preparations. Register to vote now!
