The Regional Income Tax Agency announced that they will extend the filing deadline for 2013 local taxes to Monday, April 21. Filers have until midnight on that day to file tax forms with R.I.T.A. The filing deadline was extended because the R.IT.A. website and phones have been overwhelmed by the numbers of taxpayers attempting to file on the 15th.

Unbelievable. I killed myself to get it done on Monday before Yom Tov started – without access to their web site to be able to download the correct form. And probably ended up doing it wrong. If they were a business, I would boycott them. It seems that the government has a history of using web services that are not powerful enough to get the job done. Well, I guess a person’s tools are a reflection of him. And in this case, that means overpaid and underpowered.
