Yhei Zichro Baruch, although i never knew this founding father of Jewish Cleveland as we know it today. We all know that basically were it not for his leading force as a baal habbos of the Cleveland Community by laying the foundation of the Spero Foundation, the Telshe Yeshiva, which Bred the Hebrew Academy and of course the ever present Young Israel Kehilla, Cleveland would never have grown to what it is today. Look at the other cities in Ohio that had floursihing jewish communities back then, like Youngstown for instance, nary a jew left there. A visionary and founder and builder!. As Yvadel Lachayim HoRav Elozor Levy recounted many times in shiur, that Mr Spero, AH was knee deep in mud with high boots on ensuring and supervising the construction of buildings on the Telshe Yeshiva Campus. Boneh Torah Beiro! Mekuyam! And a mokir Rabbanan…”if the Rav says we dasn’t, then we dasn’t. period”….Yehi Zichro Baruch and he should be a mailitz Yosher to the wonderful legacy of a family that he BH, BAH has.
