For many years, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland has maintained a Community Planning Calendar that has helped community organizations coordinate schedules so that major community events/meetings were not planned in conflict with each other. Historically, in order to check dates on the calendar, an organization needed to contact Federation and would then be sent a printout for the dates in question. To add an event, an organization needed to e-mail Federation with the details and we would then add the information. This was a time-consuming process that sometimes could take several days. We are now able to offer a more efficient method, as we have moved the Planning Calendar to a web based platform that allows organizations to view the calendar for themselves via the internet and to enter/edit events directly.
In order to gain access and to begin using the Planning Calendar, you must attend a training session on how to use and enter information onto the Planning Calendar. (For security purposes, access to the Planning Calendar is password-protected and not available to the general public, though when entering an event it is possible to mark it so that it will be displayed on the public calendar of events listed on Federation’s websites.)
We have trained 47 organizations to date over five sessions. We are looking to identify additional organizations and potentially new staff identified at organizations recently trained to participate in our next training session. If your organization has already received training, and you feel comfortable with the Planning Calendar and training internal staff yourself, please disregard this message.
