With winter just around the corner, here is a link for our senior, disabled, and other eligible neighbors to connect with important resources for “Energy Assistance Programs”.The Western Reserve Area on Aging says: “The most common reason for not receiving energy assistance is that people simply are not aware of the programs available. The confusion created by different sign-up dates, various applications, and the numerous agencies that administer programs makes it difficult for those in need to apply”
This “Guide through the Energy Maze” provides you with information on available energy assistance programs. Each program is described along with its benefits, eligibility rules, and where to go for more information.

Here is another link of interest from Dominion East Ohio about some of the same programs and their Housewarming Program, which provides weatherization assistance to eligible residents to reduce energy usage:

And a link to the 2014 Senior Expo, sponsored by the Home Repair Resource Center, Tuesday, September 16 from 10-2:30 at the CH Rec Center. Might be useful place to inquire about energy conservation programs/assistance and connect with other senior resources.

Stay warm and safe.
