Para-professional Employment
Virtual Schoolhouse is seeking Para-professionals to work with special education students in the classroom setting. The ideal candidate will work cooperatively with the classroom teacher to ensure a positive educational climate for learning. Para-professionals work directly with a student or small group of students to provide direct care and/or instructional services to students with Individualized Education Plans. Additional duties may include working with teachers and therapists on instructional strategies, attending team meetings and PD sessions, utilizing time prior to and at the end of the instructional day to provide supervision and other duties as may be assigned by the Director.
Expectations include professional dress and demeanor, timeliness, and flexibility. Qualifications include a current Para-professional license or Educational Aide Permit from the State of Ohio with an ESEA endorsement, or qualifications to immediately secure permit, ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks, and a love of working with students. This position is immediately available and applications will be accepted until filled.
Substitute Teacher Employment
Virtual Schoolhouse is seeking Substitute teachers for all grade levels. These positions are current for the 2014-2015 school year. If you are passionate about working with students while gaining classroom experience and keeping a flexible schedule, this is the position for you! Qualifications include a valid teaching or substitute teaching license, ability to work effectively with students in all grade levels, ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks, and experience in the classroom. Experience working with special education populations is preferred.
Technology/Business Education Teacher
Virtual Schoolhouse is seeking a part-time Technology/Business Education Teacher for all grade levels, with the majority of classes at the high school level. The courses taught include, but are not limited to, keyboarding, Microsoft suite products, and business education classes. This position is current for the 2014-2015 school year. This part-time position is 20 hours per week, Monday through Thursday. Candidate must have a valid teaching license, the ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks, and experience in the urban classroom. Certification in Microsoft Suite products is preferred. Experience working with special education populations is preferred.
