Mayor Susan Infeld broke a tie Monday to rezone four residential lots next to the Cedar-Green shopping plaza to commercial, to make way for a car wash after a heated debate during Monday night’s city council meeting.
Councilmen Mark Wiseman, Phillip Ertel and Steven Sims voted against the rezoning. The men said they wanted to send the measure back to the planning commission to further review a traffic study on Cedar Road, east of Jack’s Deli, where Cedar-Green plaza co-owner Larry Weiser wants to build a car wash and gas station.
Jonas says
I cannot believe that the city allowed a car wash with tons of auto traffic to be built in an already crowded residential corridor of Cedar Rd. Just city greed for $ without regard to the suburban environment.
Isabel Parks says
I think this is a horrible idea. There is a car wash at Cedar and Warrensville. There are three gas stations at this corner why open another?
It is difficult enough to get into that shopping area with all the traffic.
Money is driving this, pure and simple.
All the city officials and residents need to stop this from happening.
money is what uh needs says
while I agree it might be forced on by money the way taxes are in UH any more money the tow can get the better might help keep the taxes from raising futher
