Under general supervision, the Cash Accounting Clerk processes payments for all assigned accounts and prepares bank deposits as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Records all lockbox deposits and mail deposits daily.
2. Applies payments to donor’s pledge accounts in BBEC based on campaign/year on a daily basis.
3. Researches payment related questions and reports findings to supervisor for reconciliation.
4. Processes credit card payments and credits as needed.
5. Reconciles Credit Card Schedule of recurring payments for changes from period to period.
6. Prepares daily report of web credit card transactions and reconciles to Web Processor report
7. Prepares Journal entry and BBEC payment application for Web Transactions
8. Prepares adjustments to donor accounts as needed.
9. Prepares daily deposits (remote deposit and periodic cash deposits)
10. Prepares routine journal entries
11. Prepares daily report of significant deposits
12. Prepares weekly collection report
13. Prepares account reconciliations as needed
14. Reviews bank account daily and approves checks that are to be paid
15. Set up new vendors
16. Maintains excel schedule of approved accounts for wire receipt
17. Prepares schedule of United Way payroll withholdings and prepares wire to United Way monthly
18. Prepares excel import for BBEC/FE
19. Files and processes all work related materials regularly.
20. Interacts professionally on a regular basis with staff.
21. Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.
22. Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and/or Experience
1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Minimum 3 years previous experience in accounting / bookkeeping.

1. Experience with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, and internet use.
2. High attention to detail, follow-up, self-motivated, proactive and solution focused.
3. Ability to maintain established record-keeping system and office procedures.

5. Ability to tactfully and effectively deal with staff in a personable and professional manner.
6. Ability to work independently with general direction.

8. Ability to manage high volumes of work at peak times of year.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree in Business.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment. Requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, set-up and maintain work files. Travel by automobile may be required occasionally.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work performed in a general office environment. May require availability for overtime hours during peak periods. Requires periodic participation and attendance at organization sponsored events and meetings.
