The Cedar-Green Community Kollel, also known as the University Heights-Beachwood Kollel, has outgrown its space at 2203 S. Green Road in University Heights, according to Rabbi Yaakov Katz, the rosh (head of the) kollel.
“We’re on two floors and we’re exploding,” said Katz, who founded and has led the kollel since it opened at this location in 1995. “There’s not enough room. Even when the synagogue is not here, it’s packed. We have to go to the basement.”
The kollel, which rents space from and shares the building with Congregation Zichron Chaim, an Orthodox synagogue, seeks to build a new, larger facility about one-half mile south of its current location.
