It’s been about two years since the city began working on plans for a public park between Fenwick and Saybrook roads.
That park came a bit closer to reality Tuesday night when final plans, as prepared by two architectural firms, received approval from the city’s Planning Commission.
Those plans now include reverse angle parking at the park’s main entrance off Fenwick Road; raising of the crosswalk in front of the entrance so that pedestrians are on more even ground with motorists; a short walking bridge near the entrance that crosses a water retention area near the entrance; and a decorative, metal trellis, also near the entrance.
