The School Seforim Gemach will be open IY”H on Wednesdays, August 19 and 26, 6:30 – 8:30 pm, and Thursdays, August 20 and 27, 10:00-11:00 am. Address: 3802 Bendemeer.
In response to various inquiries, please see our extensive frequently asked questions and answers below:
-The School Seforim Gemach is starting small. We currently have close to 100 seforim in stock. Most of them were donated by members of our community and are used (with various degrees of writing inside), and some were purchased new. The condition of the seforim ranges from new and “like new” to used and very used.
-The selection for high school is limited. Most of the books in stock right now are for Hebrew Academy elementary school. We have mostly Chumashim (elementary and high school) and Navi (elementary and high school), a few copies of Kitzur Shulchan Aruch, Tehillim, a few Siddurim, some kria books (some of which are very expensive!), and some other seforim.
-Since we are starting with a small selection, at this time you will be able to borrow up to 3 books only. This will allow more families to benefit from the gemach.
-When you come to borrow books, please consider bringing and donating your own gently used seforim. Otherwise, suggested donation is $3 per family. This will help us expand the gemach in order to help more families.
-The books you borrow will need to be returned at the end of the year [or replaced with other (gently used) seforim in case they are lost.]
If you have any questions, please email SchoolSeforimGemach@gmail.com. The gemach is l’iluy nishmas Rochel bas Chaim Mendel.
