The city’s Board of Zoning Appeals maintains that the main distinction between “summer day camp” and “summer day care” is one of semantics.
Over the summer, the city received complaints on four of eight known day camp operations run out of homes around town, pertaining to noise and supervision.
The husband of one of a Churchill Boulevard day camp operator appeared before City Council Sept. 8 to appeal the BZA’s previous denial of their request for an exemption from needing a permit to run a day care facility.
