(Cleveland Jewish News)(Ed: Previously reported in a July ’15 posting)
A kosher supermarket is firmly in the cards for Lyndhurst now that a Brooklyn, N.Y., business owner paid $700,000 for a 1.6-acre lot at the southwestern corner of Mayfield and Richmond roads.
Chuck Essreg of Kowit & Co. Real Estate Group, who handled the deal, said Nov. 2 that Israel Y. Blackman, who is president of Discover Group, plans to build a “glatt kosher supermarket” on the lot.
He said a sign announcing the plans should be on site shortly.

I hope he’s successful…. IYH he should be Matzliach. That’s a lotta cash to fork over for a Lot that is chutz lemachane (outside of the general jewish camp/core neighborhoods of CH/UH/Beachwood), plus another at least million in renovations and equipment. With Walmart and Costco even undercutting our current Kosher grocers, I do feel bad for him, but wish him hatzlacha in all of his endeavors and appreciate the investment in our community.
