A New York entrepreneur is one step closer to building a kosher grocery store on Mayfield Road in Lyndhurst.
Israel Blackman, who owns an electronics distribution company, bought a 1.6-acre vacant lot from Mark Sims last month for $700,000. A sign has been erected on the property announcing the “glatt kosher supermarket” is on its way.
The lot was a car dealership for more than a quarter-century and has sat empty since last year, when Tesla electric car company began leasing the space next door from Sims.
