Vinney Hospice of Montefiore has been offering a community bereavement support group for many years. It has been an important resource for our hospice patients families as well as the greater Cleveland community.
We are looking to hire a new bereavement group coordinator. The coordinator is responsible for running a support group every quarter. Each group meetsĀ six times per session at Montefiore and is about 1.5 hours long. Our groups have had great results helping the bereaved to manage their many challenges.
Qualified applicants come from many different backgrounds (counseling, pastoral care, psychology, and more) but should have experience in helping both individuals and groups in managing loss and pain.
Besides the group time, the coordinator spends time meeting new group candidates, offering support outside of the group setting, and makes referrals to other support services. Additionally, the coordinator offers education and involvement in other community events as needed. Besides the group meetings themselves, the various tasks can be performed at different times of the day and the schedule would be very flexible. The time commitment varies with the week, ranging from as much as 10 hours per week during the group sessions to just a few hours in-between sessions, as well as allowing for weeks in which no work is required. Very easy to work schedule around the Jewish calendar and Shabbos, etc.
