A new company has recently been active in seeking clients in the frum community for their house cleaning business. While there is nothing wrong with competition from outside the community, this reader would like to warn the community and feels that community members should be worried about doing business with them based on substantiated and serious issues. These concerns have been discussed with several of the local Rabbonim who have agreed to the need to offer a general warning to the community to not use this company. Please be careful and consult with your local rabbi who can offer more details and specific assistance.

This sounds strange for many reasons. Anytime we allow outside help we get references. Many times time and money can be saved if the truth is told. Please be give the name of the service. Thank you

please be specific or don’t write it at all on a public forum

If the Rabbonim have agreed to “the need to offer a general warning to the community”, then why have they not done it? Why have an anonymous poster submit a totally ambiguous letter that is substantiated by
“concerns have been discussed with several of the local Rabbonim”. Can I go to a few of the local Rabbonin and discuss my concerns about Kippahs becoming too small, and then post a letter alleging backing the local Rabboninm because I discussed it with them? LJN – This is a moderated site, and as written, I see no added value to this post.

This is simply not a gossip nor rumor spreading site.
If you think you might be using the company that fits the description – or considering it, simply speak to your Rav for the details. The details do NOT need to be shared here.

Steve, because this is a public forum, to name the “offenders” is unfair business practice and can be subject to lawsuit.

What Rabbonim? Mine has no clue what you are relating to.

Perhaps this person is referring to the recent situation where someone convinced many of the house cleaners who work for frum families to leave, and now is trying to get the frum families to hire the cleaners back under her management (instead of under the supervision of the person who originally connected the cleaners to the families). There are halachic issues involved here, as well as common sense issues, and it would be wise to ask for hadracha from your Rav before deciding to take your cleaner back.

I second both Rivka and Steve. a “general warning” is no warning at all unless you tell us who the company and individual is.

I called my Rav and he had no idea what this is about. It sounds like someone is bitter about losing business to competition. Everyone is entitled to use whatever cleaning service or individual cleaning ladies that they would like. I know of a “frum” cleaning service that once sent a lady who tested positive for TB! Nothing is guaranteed.

At least give us the names of Rabbonim in the know
Sarah says
My rav also has no idea what the issue would be. If a person has a cleaning lady agency and then has a problem with one of her employees. That has nothing to with the people who use this said lady. Agencies dont own their employees or the ppl who employ them. This situation is taken way out of context. People are free to use whoever they want. If you recieved a cleaning lady from an agency and that agency no longer employs your lady why cant you hire them privately????? Has anyone commited a crime? Stolen property? Cheated? Maybe more details and facts would be appropriate.

When asked, my Rav advised not to use this person. There are halachic issues involved. Aside from that, there are other issues. If you don’t know what this is about, wonderful, you have nothing to worry about! If you do recognize the situation described, great, now you’re aware that you should speak it over with your Rav if you haven’t yet! Zehu!
lo Zehu... says
Dear M,if u don’t know about it but are considering to use one of the locals….then what?!

Actually did research and yes new family’s in town should ask. Any service that is not insured and hires illegal workers will give you headaches. Many think hired help is cheap but not to be trusted. Wrong! The more you spend means nothing. Watch everything and please never leave children alone with the service.
Yaakov says
To add on to what Riva said, the issue is not just with illegal workers and insurance but due to some very unscrupulous actions commited by the owner in its seeking to take over customers of other businesses.

if some one was abused i think the community needs to know
just say it straight out!
