BlueStar Café, a full-service kosher restaurant in Cleveland, is set to open on Wednesday, December 7, in the interior mall at Eton Chagrin Boulevard in Woodmere.
The café will feature an array of kosher dairy options, along with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free selections. The restaurant will offer an all-day sit down breakfast menu along with grab-and-go items like muffins, cookies and pastries. The coffee bar will feature a mix of hot, iced and blended drinks. Lunch items include everything from soups, sandwiches and paninis to pasta dishes and mini pizzas. Dinner service will also be offered to private parties by reservation only. A full- service dinner menu is planned to be revealed sometime after the New Year in early Spring.
“Cleveland is long overdue for a kosher dining offering like BlueStar – it’s tremendous to see the community’s response and all the anticipation before we’ve even opened,” said Rachel Stark, events and catering director. “No matter what your taste or dietary preference may be, there’s a full menu of delicious options that we believe will offer a fresh perspective on kosher food.”
The restaurant will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fridays. It will also be open on Saturday nights 1 1/2 hours after Shabbat with last seating at 11 p.m.
In addition to on-site service, BlueStar offers full-service catering with a wide variety of meat and dairy options along with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free dishes. There are two separate kitchens-meat and dairy. BlueStar is ready to cater your next bris, bat or bar mitzvah, wedding, or business lunch.
Future plans for BlueStar include extended dinner service along with the opening of the “Market” portion of BlueStar Café & Market. The Market will be stocked with to-go portions of prepared meat and side dishes along with salads, soups, sushi and Chinese meals. Challah and non-dairy baked goods will be available on Fridays for Shabbat. Anticipated Market hours are 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Chef Yuval Rub of Chef Yuval’s Catering will oversee all food prep and kitchen operations as Executive Chef. BlueStar Café & Market are certified Kosher under Rabbis Feifer and Kaplowitz of Reliable Kosher.
