Ruthie was a Bubby to me. I grew up in Toledo, my father a small town Rav. We had no relatives in town. Ruthie, and YL”C Marcy, were are family. Celebrating every milestone along with us. May her sweet memory be blessed.

These last couple days since Ruthie’s passing have been surreal. Ruthie was my Toledo Baubie. Growing up there without extended family, I had a taste of what it felt like to have a relative “in town”. Ruthie took care of us like her own, and she Marcy were/are family. Toledo isn’t Toledo without her.

I was so sorry to learn of Ruthie’s death. Although I hadn’t seen or talked to her for almost 20 years, I could always rely on her and Marcy to create a beautiful kiddush for my parents’ yahrzeits. She was a significant presence at Etz Chayim and she will be missed. My deep condolences to the entire family.

Our condolences to the Steingroot family. I had dealt with Ruthie in many capacities at the Shul and she was truly a gem. She weil missed by all who had the privilege to know her. May G-d give the family strength during this time of sorrow. Brent and Ricki Rubin and family

r
ruthie was like a second mother to me and my so n. Ruthie taught me so much in the kitchen and in the life of the Shul. My son Howard told me when he was a little boy and went to Fulton School Ruthie would leave the store and walk him to the corner of Machen to be sure he got across the street safely.. A more loving and wise person will be hard to replace. Rest in peace
