With Tu B’shvat not far ahead, we have compiled a chart of different dried fruits and the applicable halachos.
Make sure dried fruits are properly sealed and stored in a cool dry area. Improper storage can lead to infestation issues. They should be purchased from stores that have proper quality control and storage practices.

The consumer should be aware that Israeli peppers are once again being sold in our local supermarkets this time of year and have been spotted at Costco. A proper separation of terumos & ma’asros is required before using. There is usually a sticker on the pepper indicating the country of origin.

Red peppers continue to come from Israel, Mexico & Canada. This week Heinen’s was stocking peppers from Israel. However, any store in the region may be receiving them this time of year.
