Eruv Update for 6/17/23, Parshas Shelach

Due to ongoing major construction on Green Road, you MUST call the ERUV HOTLINE WEEKLY, to verify the status of the Eruv. The construction has not affected the main Eruv– only a portion of South Euclid and Cedar Sinai Synagogue. This week please call after 6 pm for the newest update.

Part of the eruv in South Euclid is not available this Shabbos due to construction on South Green Road.

The following areas are not within the Eruv for this week and until further notice.
The area of Green and Cedar- north and east, meaning the East side of Green Road, including Greenwold, Mackall, Birchwold and College and Golfway are NOT IN THE ERUV THIS WEEK. And from Cedar and Green Road going east towards Richmond  including Cedar Sinai Shul IS NOT IN THE ERUV. PLEASE CALL THE ERUV HOTLINE NEXT WEEK FOR FURTHER UPDATES. If you have more specific questions, you can call Miriam at 216-593-7200.

We regret to inform you of the passing of Rabbi Yossi Modes, Yosef Ahron Hakohen Ben Yitzchok Moshe.

The Levaya will be at 1:30 today at Telshe Yeshiva, 28499 Euclid Avenue, Wickliffe, OH.

The aron will pass by Yeshiva Derech HaTorah boys school at 12:30pm on it’s way to Telshe Yeshiva.

Sar V’gadol Nafal Hayom Hazeh B’Yisroel

With broken hearts and tear-filled eyes we must share the terrible news of the petirah of Maran Rav Gershon Edelstein, zecher tzaddik v’kadosh l’verachah. Rav Gershon, who was Nasi of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of Degel HaTorah, was widely recognized as the leader of chareidi Jewry in Eretz Yisroel, and as the Rosh HaYeshiva of Ponevezh Yeshiva was marbitz Torah and was a guide for the Torah world for decades.

Rav Edelstein’s petirah leaves a void in Torah leadership in Eretz Yisroel and around the world. He was a bridge to the olam hayeshivos of pre-war Europe, and a pioneer in the resurgence of Torah in Eretz Yisroel. His loss leaves us with a deep responsibility to – in some way – refill the void by strengthening our own Torah learning and mitzvah observance.

No Bnos this Shabbos

Dear Parents,

Due to the Yavne Shabbaton this week, the majority of our Bnos leaders will not be available. I was unable to find sufficient substitutes, so unfortunately, we cannot have Bnos this week. I apologize for the inconvenience and the short notice.

We look forward to seeing the girls again on Parshas Bamidbar, May 20th.

Free Seforim Available at Young Israel of Greater Cleveland

Young Israel of Greater Cleveland has hundreds of seforim that are now available free of charge.

Our collection includes volumes of text and commentary on Tanach and Talmud (full set and individual tractates), Shabbos and Yom Tov, Jewish thought, and stories of inspiration.

All texts are on display in the social hall at Stone Synagogue, and are free of charge.

PLEASE NOTE: We are not accepting donations of texts at this time.

We regret to inform you of the passing of Marc Loveman (Ari ben Dovid), father of Mrs. Shari Goldberg and Mrs. Deborah Peters.

The levayah will take place 3:30pm, Tuesday, May 9th, at Berkowitz-Kumin. Burial will follow at Mayfield Cemetery.

The family will be sitting shiva at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Goldberg, 28449 North Woodland Road, Pepper Pike.
