Yeshiva High School of Cleveland – Notice of Intent to Operate 6/21/17
At the Yeshiva High School of Cleveland, we are dedicated to serving the “whole student” by offering student-centered, rigorous academic and religious studies. Our own Rabbi Kutoff explains, “That’s why we are committed to success not only in middos tovos and Torah learning, but also in General Studies. For these reasons and more, we at the Yeshiva High School of Cleveland are very excited to announce the addition of Jason Kustron, M. Ed as Principal of General Studies. Mr. Kustron comes to the Yeshiva with a unique and exceptional level of experience in teaching and administration at both the secondary and post-secondary levels. With his vast array of knowledge and experience, Mr. Kustron will implement a rigorous blended-learning curriculum in order to push our students to the forefront of twenty-first century educational opportunities. Kustron, 34 years old, is a Cleveland native and held teaching positions in Mentor Public Schools, Lakeland Community College, and Cleveland State University, before moving up to Bryant Stratton College where he was most recently an administrator as the Dean of Students. According to Principal Kustron (who often goes by “Mr. K”, to the students), “we have a unique opportunity to create an exceptional, personalized, and advanced educational community here at YHS- the future is now for our students.”
The Yeshiva High School of Cleveland intends to open the 2017-18 school year as an ODE Chartered Non-Public school with a fully aligned general studies curriculum; which will put the students in position to advance their educations at the post-secondary level. The blended-learning curriculum will allow students to take advanced placement courses that are accepted as college credits, regular high school credits, and credit recovery courses. Our mission is to personalize the education to meet the needs and ambitions of our students. In fact, Principal Kustron explains, “We can offer students course content in their specific fields of interest; if a student wants to learn to code computers, we can help that student with a program. If he wants to learn a foreign language, we can provide many options.”
With these exciting developments for the coming school year, Yeshiva High School of Cleveland will provide an exceptional educational experience that benefits students in both the Torah and
professional worlds.
