Significance of School Choice in Ohio Highlighted in JTA Article About Betsy DeVos
Rabbi Yitz Frank quoted:
“All the things the broader Jewish community cares about — there’s a recognition that Jewish education is a huge part of that,” said Rabbi Eric Frank, the Ohio director of Agudath Israel of America, a haredi Orthodox group that supports school choice. “Recognizing that cost will prohibit people from attending a Jewish day school leads to more support for policies that will enable them to.”

An Inauguration Day Message of Responsibility for the New President from the Lubavitcher Rebbe
The video links to Jewish Media’s page on Youtube.
…At the same time, a reminder of his vital duty and responsibility to utilize the possibilities, capabilities and powers that are granted to a person who was chosen by the public, especially in a country made up of many nationalities, who together make their choice according to the majority’s will. And the minority, too, then accepts him as their President and representative, authorizing him to administer on their behalf all of the country’s affairs, both foreign and domestic.
May the President utilize this power for the public and individual good. Torah demands that a true leader advocate for both the community’s interest and the individual’s interest, and Torah clearly does not demand the impossible. It is thus certain that these two goals can be attained without contradiction between the public interest and the interests of the individual but such that the two tracks actually complement each other.
A Head of State who leads by this principle can be privileged to fulfill the Will of the Creator–Who conducts the world in every particular detail, King of all kings, Almighty G-d, blessed be He–to fulfill His Will entirely with joy and happiness. When he makes such a decision firmly, G-d assists him, ensuring that the goals are fulfilled even more completely than could have been envisioned.
This approach must be based on the principle that the role and authority of a Head of State are endowed by G-d, Who continues to grant the strength to fulfill them. This message must be clear to all those he influences; the knowledge that his leadership is permeated with a faith in One G-d, the G-d of Truth, Who conducts every detail in this world, and certainly “the hearts of kings and princes,” and most especially a country which has such a central role in the entire world.

Scammer Using Borrowed GetGo Cards to Pay for Their Own Gas – Don’t Lend Yours Out
You pull up to the pump at GetGo, someone nearby asks to use your Giant Eagle rewards card- to get the few cents off. You probably wouldn’t think twice, right? Canton Police say you should.
“He’ll ask the person next to him if they’ll swipe their advantage card so he can save the 3 cents a gallon. Then he’ll put pay inside on the pump, get his gas, and drive off. The person who allowed him to use their card gets hit with a drive-off from GetGo,” Captain Kurzinsky said.

House Passes Bipartisan Objection to UN Security Council Resolution 2334 and United States’ Failure to Block It
The House of Representatives on Thursday overwhelmingly approved a measure disavowing a United Nations resolution that condemned Israel’s settlement activities, in a rare show of bipartisan force that doubled as a rebuke to President Barack Obama’s approach to the U.S.-Israel relationship.
Excerpts from Resolution:
(1)(G): the United States Government should oppose and veto future United Nations Security Council resolutions that seek to impose solutions to final status issues, or are one-sided and anti-Israel;…
(2) the House of Representatives opposes United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334 and will work to strengthen the United States-Israel relationship, and calls for United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334 to be repealed or fundamentally altered…
Excerpts from Engel’s speech:
“Mr. Speaker, throughout its entire history, the state of Israel has never gotten a fair shake from the United Nations. Year after year after year, member states manipulate the UN to bully our ally Israel, to pile on with one-sided resolutions placing all of the blame for the ongoing conflict on Israel.
“We saw a resolution like this come before the Security Council a few weeks ago, and today the House of Representatives will go on record saying that that UN resolution is wrong, plain and simple. And frankly we should not have voted for that.
“The Security Council resolution is highly critical of Israel, yet asks nothing directly of the Palestinians. That’s biased, that’s unfair, that’s not balanced and, again, we should have opposed it. We should have vetoed it.
“And the language about Jerusalem is not new, but it remains deeply offensive to Jews whose holiest site lies on the Temple Mount in East Jerusalem. The Kotel, the holy Western Wall, is simply not occupied territory, and it’s offensive to hear that.
