Tanya Shiur Forming at Khal Yereim
(via Shimon Weiner)
I recently saw a piece on MATZAV.com about the Aish Kodesh Shul in Woodmere
And they mentioned a daily Tanya shiur – and indeed, even though it is not a Chabad shul – they have a daily 7am Tanya shiur. Tanya is a very choshuv sefer, and many Gedoley Torah have learnt it over the years. I mentioned it to some mispallelim in Khal Yereim, Rabbi Mendy Alevsky of Chabad at Case was among the group – and he would be glad to learn Tanya with anyone interested. Immediately one of the others in the group said he would love to learn Tanya – and the idea spread. I’d like to open the idea up to everyone – and see if we can get this Tanya shiur up and running. We’re thinking of meeting in Khal Yereim, in the back of the main shul at 6:30 am. Please email me (Shimon Weiner) at furhatone@gmail.com or call me at 216.849.5143 if you are interested in joining. This could be an incredible way to start the day – and I am sure we will all grow from it. We would hope to begin sometime next week – the week of March 14th.

Bnos UH/Beachwood Important Updates
There were a few mistakes in the University Hts./ Beachwood Bnos mailing last week. Please note that Bnos for Kindergarten this week, March 5, will be at Sikowitz 2438 Milton and NOT at Toby Strauss. For the week of March 19, for the 1st grade group, Bnos will NOT be at Shana Goldstein-instead it will be by Toby Strauss.
If, by mistake, you did not receive our mailing or you received an empty envelope, please call or text (216)543-9321 or email beachwoodbnos@gmail.com
Also, all projects made at Hands on Pottery are finished and ready to be picked up at their studio. Have a great Shabbos!
Choice in education benefits the community
(Heights Observer) “We should not view EdChoice as a threat to the CH-UH schools, but as a win-win. EdChoice can remove a roadblock for many choosing to raise a family in the Heights, with the net effect of benefiting the entire community.”
Choosing the appropriate type of education and school for our children is a fundamental liberty. In Cleveland Heights and University Heights, options range from public schools to parochial schools, private schools and homeschooling. Unfortunately, for many families, the tuition of parochial and private schools eliminates these options. The time commitment required by parents for homeschooling eliminates that option as well, leaving many families a single alternative—the public system.
Mazel tov!
Elchanan and Numi Stern would like to invite the community to a Shalom Zachar at their home, 3659 Bainbridge Rd., this Friday night, Shabbos Parashas Vayakhel.
