Tell Your Elected Officials to Vote Against the Deal with Iran
(Members of Congress have returned to their districts for the August recess, and with them the debate over the Iran deal moves from Washington, D.C. to your community. Take advantage of this and contact your elected representatives now while they are close to the district.)
In what Prime Minister Netanyahu called a “stunning historical mistake,” world powers including the US signed a dangerous nuclear deal with Iran. The deal now goes to Congress for approval and it’s up to your representatives to decide whether or not to validate the deal. Call your Senators and Congressmen and urge them to reject the deal! (Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH), Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-OH)).
In light of recent events please review two important things to consider and to act upon. 1) Ways to contact out government leaders to express concern about this deal & 2) a Statement from Agudath Israel of America.

Traffic changes announced in University Heights near Wiley as building prepares to become home of Heights High
(Cleveland.com)
City leaders are not quite sure what to expect when the former Wiley Middle School becomes the new, temporary home of Cleveland Heights High School.
Come Aug. 31, the Wiley building will begin service as a high school building for two years while Cleveland Heights High, located on Cedar and Lee roads, undergoes renovations. In preparing for what is to come, Mayor Susan Infeld and Police Chief Steven Hammett have decided to institute a couple of traffic changes in the vicinity of the Wiley building, 2181 Miramar Blvd.
Ohio’s Sales Tax Holiday: What to know before hitting the stores Aug. 7-9
(Cleveland.com)
In response to the tremendous interest by Ohio families and residents about the State of Ohio’s first back-to-school Sales Tax Holiday from Aug. 7-9, the Ohio Department of Taxation offers the following tips for consumers:
1. When does it begin?
The tax holiday is a one-time event, from 12:01 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, both in store and online.
State Sen. Kevin Bacon introduced the legislation in November 2013, and Gov. John Kasich signed it into law in December 2014, but a new state law would have to be passed to extend the promotion beyond 2015.

Where does my Shemoneh Esrei end? Part 1 & 2 By Rabbi Yirmiyohu Kaganoff
(RabbiKaganoff.com)
Question #1: Slow on the draw
“The other day, I was finishing Shemoneh Esrei as the chazzan began Kedushah, but I had not yet recited the sentence beginning with the words Yi’he’yu Leratzonwhen the tzibur was already reciting Kodosh, kodosh, kodosh. Should I have answered Kedushah without having first said Yi’he’yu Leratzon?”
Question #2: A proper ending
“Someone told me that I am not required to say the prayer Elokei Netzor at the end of Shemoneh Esrei. Is this a legitimate practice? Why don’t the siddurim say this?”
Question #3: Responding in kind [Read more…]

Watch Out For Popular “Microsoft” Scams
(Thanks to Ben Greenberger)
1) With all the publicity for Windows 10, and with the anticipation of waiting for Microsoft to get to you with the upgrade files, many people may get an Email purporting to be from Microsoft to do the upgrade. Microsoft is NOT distributing the files via Email. See a related article here >> You may be getting a virus that will lock you out of ALL you files!
[There is a legitimate way to get the files needed to upgrade to Windows 10 (‘jump the line’), but that is beyond the scope of this Email.]
2) Microsoft will NEVER call you by telephone to tell you that you have a virus. These scammers are very convincing. As soon as you hear them say that they are from Microsoft (usually in a foreign accent) and that you have a virus, IMMEDIATELY hang up the phone. That’s the beast way to handle this.
