Berry season in Northeast Ohio; where to pick your own
(Cleveland.com)
Seize this berry moment.
Summer red raspberries are ripe. Currants of all colors (red, black, white and pink) are marching in. And blueberries are starting their journey from local farms to our fingers to our mouths. Brave are those who let us wander their orchards to pick, knowing we tend to eat at the same time.

Google Map of Cleveland’s Jewish Locations from the Past and Present
Jeff Morris, a local amateur historian has completed much of the work on an interesting project. He has used the features of Google Maps to map the major Cleveland Jewish locations from the past and present over a modern Cleveland map. This is a great way to learn history and to explore today’s neighborhoods and to see what was once there. Many of the pins contain more information and a link to media from CSU’s Special Collections web site. Enjoy the link and share feedback with Jeff, jeffmorris74@gmail.com.
Also be sure to check out Jeff’s free online e-book which offers a detailed history of the Orthodox Synagogues of Cleveland. In addition check out his Haymarket to the Heights: The Movement of Cleveland’s Orthodox Synagogues From Their Initial Meeting Places to the Heights article too.

That park came a bit closer to reality Tuesday night when final plans, as prepared by two architectural firms, received approval from the city’s Planning Commission.
Beachwood – University Heights Community Kollel Building
We are all aware that the Beachwood – University Heights Community Kollel has received permission from the University Heights City Council to build a Torah home. Yad Hashem was clearly evident as four major variances were overcome to reach this milestone. With demolition of the existing structures scheduled for mid – July, the date for construction is getting closer.
The Kollel has been a Torah learning center for hundreds of families for over eighteen years, and is literally “bursting at the seams.” The building campaign has begun in a most earnest way, with a remarkable participation on the part of many outstanding individuals who reside in our community.
