Post) Most people don’t think of it in the winter, but the free Mondays at the zoo can be really fun in the winter.  The forecast is for 45 degrees and 0% chance of rain, which isn’t so bad.  If you are used to going in the summer when it’s wall-to-wall people, you will enjoy being able to take the time to really see what’s going on and interact more with workers than you can in the summer (albeit inside the buildings in most cases).  We’ve done winter zoo trips for a number of years at different zoos and found workers are much happier in the winter without all the people and are happy to share information about studies they are doing, habits of the animals, etc…  It may be a little more crowded with most public schools also on break, but in other years we could just get on the tram and they would take us anywhere in the zoo we wanted to go.

Remember that the “free” is only for Cuyahoga county residents, so if you have family in from out of town without local IDs, they won’t be covered.
