Reminder on the Proper Brachos on Esrog Foods
(Hakhel) By now, many have taken hold of their precious Esrogim with the hope of internalizing them: “The The Laws of Brachos (by Rabbi Binyomin Forst, Shlita, Artscroll) writes as follows: Unlike other fruits, whose inner fruit is eaten while the rind is discarded, the thick esrog rind is the primary portion of the fruit. Therefore, the proper brachos for an esrog are follows: (a) Esrog preserves: One who eats esrog preserves or jam (which contains esrog solids) recites a Ha’eitz regardless of whether he eats the fruit itself or the thick rind; (b) the outer peel: the thin outer yellow peel of the esrog is similar to other fruit peels. One who eats it alone, even if it is preserved and sweetened, recites aShehakol; (c) raw esrog rind: an esrog rind is not usually eaten raw and therefore requires only a Shehakol when eaten raw.”

Daylight Savings Time
Daylight savings time ends this Sunday morning, November 2nd at 2am giving us an extra hour to do something that we often don’t have a chance to do!
But it also means that we have to once again revisit how we are able to find a minyan and daven on time.
LocalJewishNews maintains a list of Mincha Minyanim here. Let us know if is there is anything wrong or missing.
New Minyan App Makes Jewish Prayer Easy, Accessible Anywhere
(repost) The popular maker of Jewish apps for iPhone and Android users has created yet another revolutionary app to make the creation of a minyan easier when on the go. And it is free!
RustyBrick announced that the Minyan Now app allows users to create a minyan of 10 males over Bar Mitzvah age, as required for daily prayers three times per day.
The app notifies Jewish males in the user’s area that a minyan is needed. The app then confirms 10 males for a specific time at a specific location for prayer. Once all 10 males are in attendance, the app confirms the group and the prayer group can then start.
