University Heights rolls out a million-dollar street paving program with $13.1 million general fund

A cool $1 million will be set aside for road paving projects in the city’s 2016 budget, which includes a projected $13.1 million General Fund.
It’s part of a $2.3 million surplus that will be carried over into the new year, although that number could go higher, noted City Finance director Larry Heiser as he was closing the books on 2015.

At their last meeting, retiring Mayor Dennis Wilcox and Councilman Jeff Coryell reflected on what has been an eventful two years for the city.
Wilcox capped 16 years on council with the final two at the helm, and thanked his colleagues on Dec. 21 for giving him that opportunity.
