Rosh Hashana Vasikin Minyan in Cleveland Heights

NOTE: There have been requests in past years for a Minyan for יום הכיפורים as well. If there is enough interest, there may be a Minyan so please express your interest as soon as possible.
Chartered Bus for Bochrim from NY/ NJ to Cleveland Motzei Yom Kippur
Once again we are trying to arrange a bus motzei Yom Kippur from NY/NJ for bochurim. Must commit asap! (If not enough boys commit, there will be no bus) Cost $70. Please text or call Yehudis Newman for more information at 216-470-8772.

HAC To Buy Oakwood Country Club
The Hebrew Academy of Cleveland has just released that they have been granted an option to purchase the former Oakwood Country Club property situated between Andrews Road and Warrensville Center Road in Cleveland Heights. The school’s board has voted unanimously to accept and to purchase this 90 acre property.

Annual Community Cemetery Clean-up 2014

Volunteers are needed for the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Spring Cemetery Cleanup on Sunday,
September 14 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.. at Lansing Cemetery, 3933 E. 57th Street, Cleveland. All ages are welcome to participate in this community-wide event, rain or shine.
Past Cemetery Cleanup events have attracted hundreds of people across generations and denominations. Preserving cemeteries is considered one of the most righteous acts of chesed (kindness); there is no greater mitzvah than honoring those that came before us.

Turf and Torah (TnT) Jewish Flag Football
Turf and Torah (TnT) is a Jewish Flag Football league in Cleveland. The goal is to engage Jewish men in the camaraderie of sportsmanship and Torah discussion.
When: The league will meet weekly Sunday mornings from 9-11 AM, Starting Sept. 14th, for eight weeks.
Cost: $60 Dollars this season. That helps to pay for TnT shirts, weekly refs, field costs, flags, etc. Any additional funds left over will be donated to a Jewish organization. The league champions will be able to choose that organization .

Shamas will be responsible for helping coordinate daily minyan (morning and night Sunday through Friday). Shamas will ideally be able to read torah, assist with davening, and ensure that the building is open and closed. Hebrew Academy’s Bigs and Littles celebrates 10 years

A decade ago, Gill Wolovitz of Cleveland Heights, a social worker and the mother of six daughters, created the Bigs and Littles mentoring program at the Hebrew Academy of Cleveland, which pairs elementary and middle school students with children in high school or college. Its purpose was to help children feel better about themselves, but it evolved into something much bigger.
