How We Saved Money on Moving
(Local Kosher Deals Blogger – KosherOnABudget.com shared this very helpful and timely post)
There are no two ways about it. Moving is expensive.
And the farther you move, the more you’ll spend — unless you are lucky enough to have an employer pay for it.
For the rest of us, whether we’re moving across town or to another state, saving money on moving is no easy feat. Having just completed a move from Kansas to Ohio, however, we did find a few ways to shave a couple thousands dollars off the high cost of moving.

Question #1: Silk Talis
“I grew up in a conservative home, and, prior to my bar mitzvah, I was given a ‘bar mitzvah set’ which included tefillin and a silk talis. I have since discovered that the tefillin were completely non-kosher. Must I assume that there is a problem with the talis also, since it is made from silk?”

Charlie Harary – Finding Your Mission in Life
Winter gas heating bills will probably be higher than a year ago, but no crisis predicted
(Plain Dealer)
It’s Labor Day, and for some, that means it’s time to think about winter — and what it’s going to cost to heat your home.
Your home is losing two additional minutes of sunlight (and heat) every day; and despite this past week’s warm temperatures, the cool down has begun. In just eight weeks, or even sooner, you will need your furnace in order to be comfortable overnight.
