Severance Town Center hit with foreclosure lawsuit after Walmart departure, loan default

Severance Town Center, a prominent retail property in Cleveland Heights, is the subject of a foreclosure lawsuit filed in Cuyahoga County.
On July 1, a lender asked to foreclose on the troubled shopping center, after the property’s out-of-state owner failed to repay the balance on a $43 million mortgage. Now, the litigation is working its way through Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court, where it’s possible that a judge might appoint an outside expert — called a receiver — to manage the 600,000-square-foot complex.

Mount Olive Cemetery will offer Shemos services for the burial of religious books and papers from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday through Friday until Sept. 11.
The items should be dropped off in paper bags or cardboard boxes.
The cemetery is at 27855 Aurora Road in Solon.

Archive Of Pre-Holocaust Jewish Images Digitized

A vast archive of photographs of pre-Holocaust Eastern European Jewish life is being made available to the public and researchers.
The International Center of Photography in New York and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday announced the joint creation of a digital database to facilitate access to photographer Roman Vishniac’s archive.
