We regret to inform you of the passing of Florence Woll, sister of Hannah Porath. The funeral will be Wednesday, April 30 at 11:00 am at Berkowitz-Kumin. Burial will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery. The door soon will close on foreclosure-prevention assistance available through the “Save the Dream Ohio” program. April 30 is the deadline for homeowners to register and receive up to $35,000 in mortgage assistance.
Antoinette Smith, a foreclosure prevention specialist at Empowering and Strengthening Ohio’s People, or ESOP, a nonprofit HUD-certified housing counseling agency in Cleveland, called the program a lifeline for Ohioans who are struggling to stay in their homes.

Volunteers have been sorting and boxing donated books for months, and the Friends of Heights Libraries storeroom is bursting at the seams—all in preparation for the group’s semiannual Mega Book Sale, May 1–4, at the Lee Road Library.
This is a very short ballot no matter which ballot you select. As this is a primary and most candidates are running unopposed in their own parties, the run –off election in November will be much longer than this one. However, short does not mean unimportant. A local shopping strip is about to get a new look. The strip on Warrensville Center Road that is home to, among others, the JM Mart and The Bagel Shoppe, will have its facade renovated this spring and summer.
Lewis Zipkin, head of Zipkin Properties, who has owned the strip for 20 years, said, “It will be a new look — contemporary with a traditional flavor. There will be complete renovations from one end to the other and we’re going to resurface the parking lot.

In honor of Rabbi Miller’s Yahrzeit (yesterday), the Rabbi Avigdor Miller Legacy Library is opening its streaming audio archive to the public this week. The archive includes approximately 800 shiurim which are normally available only to paid members. The shiurim will be available free from Sunday April 27 through Friday, May 2. Titles include nearly 500 Thursday night lectures, plus the entire Mussar, Pirkei Avos, and Perek Chelek series.
