John Carroll honors Holocaust survivors, victims
(Cleveland Jewish News)
David Markovich, founding president of Hillel at John Carroll University, is proud of his grandfather, a Holocaust survivor who died six months ago.
That pride came through clearly during JCU’s first Holocaust Remembrance Day April 8 at the university’s Dolan Center of Science and Technology in University Heights. About 75 people attended.

Sharing Our O-U Community Fair Secret – The Great Community of Cherry Hill, NJ
By: Alise R. Panitch, Esq.
It was about two years ago that the residents of Cherry Hill, NJ were told that we were eligible to participate in the OU Emerging Communities Fair in New York. This was fantastic news to us. After all, we love the fact that Cherry Hill is the kind of warm, friendly community where everybody knows your name, but we also don’t want to be too much of a well-kept secret.

O-U Jewish Communities and Job Relocation Fair in NY
WITH 41 PARTICIPANTS FROM COAST TO COAST, OU JEWISH COMMUNITIES AND JOB RELOCATION FAIR RETURNS SUNDAY, APRIL 21, NOON TO 6:00 P.M., IN NEW YORK; EMPHASIS IS ON AFFORDABILITY OF NEW PLACES
TO LIVE AN ORTHODOX LIFE
By Stephen Steiner
It was once an untested concept; now it is reality. When the Orthodox Union presented its first Jewish Communities Home and Job Relocation Fair, back in 2008, the visionary thought of then-OU President Stephen J. Savitsky was that there were “emerging” Orthodox communities across North America that would be thrilled to throw open their doors to families and individuals relocating from the most populous (and expensive) areas of Orthodox life, that is, the New York metropolitan area.
Supporting the Sherman Family
(The Green Road Synagogue Office)
Tuesday, April 9th at 11am there will be a community and city-wide gathering to promote awareness of the tragic passing of Aliza Sherman and the ongoing investigation to search for the perpetrator of this horrific crime. The gathering will be held at 11:00 am at East 12th Street by the Galleria (the location where she was killed) and people are asked to arrive there by 10:45. Newscasters will be covering the event and therefore greater attendance will create a greater impact.
