The Cleveland Eruv is up for this Shabbos, November 17.
Our phone line is temporarily not working.
The newly-created South Euclid public park behind Walmart is excluded from the Cleveland Community Eruv. This means that on Shabbos, no one is allowed to carry, push a stoller, etc., anywhere in the park. The park includes a retaining pool, which is not halachically allowed within an Eruv. During the Walmart construction, the Eruv committee arranged to build a “fence” around the entire park to exclude it from the Eruv. The rest of the Eruv has not been affected. Due to the recent storm the Cleve Hts. Rambam Eiruv sustained significant damage and is temporarily not kosher for at least this Shabbos Parshas Chayei Sara. For updates please call the eiruv info line 216-282-7947.
Further information to follow on the greater community eruv.
The Cleveland Community Eruv required complex last minute repairs last Friday afternoon. An ongoing construction project created a major breach in the Eruv very late Thursday afternoon. Materials had to be purchased at retail erev Shabbos.
Signal Service Co., which built the Eruv 30 years ago and has maintained it ever since, worked long hours to remedy the issue. Under the direction of the dedicated mashgiach, Rabbi Eliyahu Meir Rennert, the Eruv was functional by Shabbos.
Cleveland Heights is happy to announce that the new Eruv has been built and is ready to be used. Look for more details to come about the various enhancements involved and how this project came together.
