Graco recalling nearly 3.8M child car seats
(Washington Post)
Graco is recalling nearly 3.8 million car safety seats because children can get trapped by buckles that may not unlatch. But the company has drawn the ire of federal safety regulators who say the recall should include another 1.8 million rear-facing car seats designed for infants. The recall covers 11 models sold from 2009 through 2013 by Graco Children’s Products Inc. of Atlanta.

How safe is your baby’s medicine bottle? Infant Tylenol and other liquid acetaminophen products have a new safety feature
(ConsumerReports.org)
Drug accidents send more kids under the age of 6 to the emergency room than car crashes. About 10,000 cases a year involve liquid medications, such as cough and cold medicines, as well as infant and child versions of the pain reliever and fever reducer acetaminophen (Tylenol and generic versions). It takes only a moment of caregiver inattention for a curious little one to grab a medicine bottle to try to get to the syrupy liquid inside.
Fuel line freeze-up
Years ago when metal tanks were common, fuel was of lower quality, and other factors, it was not uncommon for the car fuel line to freeze up. Today this is not so common, but not impossible. However, freezing is prevented by making sure that the gas level is not below half a tank. When your gas tank has more air, the moisture in the air can freeze and leave ice flakes which then clogs the line. This usually happens when the car is sitting for a few hours in the cold, but the fuel line can also freeze while you are driving if the conditions are cold enough.

An Unbelievable Neighborhood Incident
A reader asked that we publish the following:
“My daughter was walking on Severn Road towards Taylor. She heard a commotion, shouts and hollering -behind her. When she turned around she saw a deer charging straight at her with Jewish young men chasing it from behind with their shouts. She knew not to run, but rather to stand still. B”H the deer veered away from her, and the Jewish youngsters continued chasing it. I don’t know if they saw my daughter, as they were focused on the deer. Dangerous!”
Not much to say here. Can you name all of the “aveiros”/ transgressions in this story?
